Value and Texture Project
Project Description
Students will have an opportunity to learn, practice and get better at drawing with a pencil. They will use this practice to create drawings that have value, light and shadow, not just line. They will use this opportunity to improve how give it dimension and shape. They will practice using their vision to really see and analyze what they are drawing to understand it better and use this understanding to make their art.

Skill Work/Research/Practice
We will practice creating value and texture using value scales, fades and trying to replicate real textures that have been copied using the rubbing technique.
We will also practice drawing objects from real life trying to match the shape and shadows
Final Project
Students will create a drawing using the techniques they have practiced during the skill work and research phase of this project. They will be asked to create a drawing from real life or a photograph and do their best to match the lights, darks, shadows and highlights to create an accurate drawing that looks like the object or photograph they have drawn.
