Using Positive Space, Negative Space, Overlap, Color and Pattern/Texture
Last week we focused on the idea of Positive and Negative Space.
This week we are going to take that concept a little farther.
I want you to try and create two drawings where you trace an object, similar to last week, but this time I want you to focus on using the elements of space (positive, negative and overlap), color and texture to create and interesting image. I would suggest when you do this, you must have traced the object at least two times, but it doesn't have to be the whole object, it can be just a part of the object. Think about things like how many times you trace something to make it interesting space? Or, what color or how dark a shade would help you make something appear interesting?
